Abstract
1,091,623. Straightening. EHRHARDT & SEHMER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. Dec. 7, 1965 [Dec. 8, 1964], No. 51939/65. Heading B3E. A roller straightening machine includes overhung upper and lower rollers for straightening metal sections the shafts of which are tiltably adjustable relative to one another to compensate for sag of the shafts under load on the straightening rollers. A shaft 4 of each upper roll is mounted in a casing 2 adjustable horizontally along a guide 8 and, by worm and screw means 14, tiltably about the centre of crosssection of the guide 8. A shaft 4 of each lower roll is mounted in a casing 3 which is vertically adjustable in a frame 17 by screw spindles 18, 19 driven from a common shaft 20 and is tiltably adjustable by screw means 23, 24. The casings 3, other than that for the central roll, are also adjustable horizontally. Only the upper rolls are driven.
