Abstract

1,089,957. Electromagnetic relays. METZENAUER & JUNG G.m.b.H. Aug. 3, 1965 [Aug. 18, 1964; May 11, 1965], No. 33098/65. Heading H2B. The contact sets of an electromagnetic relay may be altered from normally open to normally closed and vice-versa without altering the return force on the armature. In Fig. 4 contact bridges 6, 7 are mounted on pressure springs in a contact carrier 2 and move between the limbs of respecive U-shaped contact members 8, 9 each of the contact members being provided with an insulating cap 13 on one limb or other depending on whether a normally open or normally closed set is required. The caps may be reversed by removing a cover plate 17 which is apertured to enable the condition of the contacts to be seen. In Fig. 7 (not shown), the bridge is movable between the limbs of a pair of U-shaped contact members and has an insulating layer on one side. Reversal of the bridge changes the contact set from normally open to normally closed or vice-versa. In Fig. 6 (not shown) each moving contact comprises two electrically connected contact bridges between which fixed contact members, insulated on one side or the other by insulating plates, are positioned.
