Abstract

787,072. Electromagnetic switches. NAIMER, H. Feb. 16, 1954 [April 21, 1953] No: 4583/54. Class 38 (5). A switch in which there is only an abutting connection between the movable contact and the armature comprises an armature 24 carrying a member 25 slidable on pillars 21 and biased by springs 26. Stops 32<SP>1</SP> on the member 25 cooperate respectively with stops 32 connected to a series of bridging contacts 29 slidable in a housing 27 and biased by weak springs 30. When the coil 23 is energized the member 25 moves against the springs 26 so that stops 32, 32<SP>1</SP> disengage and springs 30 move contacts 29 to bridge pairs of fixed contacts 31. The housing 27 may be detached from the remainder of the switch. In an alternative construction (not shown) the contacts are opened by the springs 30 when the coil is energized.
