[Also in Division H5] A double-acting microswitch in an immersion heater (see Division H5) comprises two pairs of contacts 101, 102 and 103, 104 connected in series and actuated in sequence. Contacts 101, 102 are normally open, spring biased apart, whilst contacts 103, 104, normally closed, are snap-action switch-operated via spring 107 and rod 108. Movement in direction D closes contacts 101, 102 to complete the circuit, further movement opens contacts 103, 104 to break the circuit.
