Abstract

1,087,671. Swimming bath dividing booms. CONTEMPORARY INDUSTRIES (ENGINEERING) Ltd. March 3, 1966 [Dec. 4, 1964], No. 49426/64. Heading A4N. A boom adapted to extend across a swimming bath, comprises a framework clad with sheets 25 of metal, plastic or other suitable material, said framework having at least three longitudinal surfaces, two of which are at right angles to each other, and means 14 for rigidly locking the ends of the boom to the sides or edges of the bath. The ends of the boom are provided with slide members 13 which move in horizontal channels 29 in the side walls of the bath thus enabling the bath to be shortened or lengthened according to requirements. In Fig. 1 the boom is shown fitted with removable screens 10 and starting blocks 11. The preferred form of the boom is triangular in cross-section and is arranged so that its upper surface is horizontal and flush with the bath surround 12. The boom may be buoyant and may be adapted to be stored on the bottom of the deep end of the bath.
