Abstract
1,085,200. Belt gearing; securing elements on shafts. SCHNELL PRESSENFABRIK KOENIG & BAUER A.G. Sept. 2, 1966, No. 39416/66. Headings F2Q and F2U. To enable an endless belt R to be fitted with the necessary tension on pulleys having a fixed centre spacing, at least one pulley comprises a rim 3, having a frusto-conical inner surface, keyed by feather keys 8 to a hub 4 having a corresponding frusto-conical external surface and being removably secured to the end 7 of a shaft 1. With the hub removed and the rim resting loosely on the shaft end 7 eccentrically thereof, the belt is fitted on to the rim and the hub is then pressed on to the shaft end 7 by means of a central axial screw 6 acting through a pressure plate 5 to bring the rim 3 to concentricity with the shaft 1. A ring 2 bearing against a shoulder on the shaft 1 axially locates the rim 3 and reacts the axial loading thereon.
