Abstract

The shouldered hub part when slid in position on e.g. the motor or pump shaft is enclosed by an inserted ring (3) with coaxial bore and double conical peripheral surfaces, to which abut a split outer ring (8, 4) whose bore surfaces mate with the conical insert surfaces. Setscrews evenly spaced inside the outer ring periphery are threaded into the ring. When the entire assembly is slid onto the correct position on the shaft, evenly tightening up of the equidistant spaced setscrews forces the outer ring conical bore surfaces into contact with the conical insert surface which are angled at between 10 and 20 deg. Final tightening secures the hub on the shaft.
