A street light fixture is provided on each side of the vertical plane through the light source 3 with an external reflector 4 reflecting a beam 11 parallel to the upper limit 10 of direct light passing below the lower edge of the reflector a first top reflector 5 reflecting a beam 12 parallel to the beam 11 and a second top reflector 5 connected to the reflector 4 which reflects light in the sector between the lateral reflector 4 and the reflector 5 downwards as at 13. A small additional lateral reflector may be mounted on the edge of the reflector 6 to reflect light back through the source towards the lateral reflector on the opposite side.
