Abstract

1,078,982. Brushes. OSBORN MANUFACTURING CO. March 23, 1965 [Jan. 11, 1965], No. 49163/66. Divided out of 1,078,981. Heading A4K. A crimped wire or like brush comprises several bundles of brush material received in a hollow receptacle back and protruding therefrom, each bundle having an encircling band (15, 22) in the region within the back with the outer edges of the bands being engaged by the back to hold them firmly in position. The upper edge of the back may be inturned or indentations may be formed in the sides of the back to secure the bundle in the back. An epoxy resin cement may be provided in the bottom of the back to hold the ends of the brush material. End brushes, strip brushes and wheel brushes may be formed in this way. The brush material may comprise hard straight plastic beaded wire, plastic coated wire, tampico fibre or plastic monofilaments such as nylon.
