Abstract

1,078,923. Rolling. VERWALTUNGSGESELLSCHAFT MOELLER UND NEUMANN OFFENE HANDELSGESELLSCHAFT. May 7, 1965 [May 11, 1964], No. 19338/65. Heading B3M. A steel rod rolling mill having two rolling lines 1, 2 comprises two continuous breakdown stages 3, 4, Fig. 1, having horizontal-vertical frames, intermediate stages 5, 6, 7, and one core finishing stages 9, 10. Stages 6, 7 have frames which can be displaced from one rolling line to the other. In operation, stages 3, 4 are supplied from two furnaces, or from a common furnace, with two ejector openings. The rod from stage 3 is fed to stage 5 through a deflector guide 8, and both rods are rolled on a two-core basis in stages 5-7, and then they are separated and pass through single core stages 9 and 10. In a modification, Fig. 2, half of the frames in stage 7 are displaced, so that this stage provides single core working. In a further modification, half of the frames in stage 6 are also displaced. In a still further modification, each rolling line passes through all of the stages in a single core operation. Each line 1 and 2 may be independently driven.
