1,081,950. Rolling wire. SCHLOEMANN A.G. Nov. 5, 1965, No. 47123/65. Heading B3M. Wire is formed by passing stock through a succession of horizontal sets of rolls 1 and 2, and vertical sets of rolls 5 and 6, the passes being of oval shape. The initial stock is of substantial square cross-section B x H, Fig. 3. The breadth of the first oval roll pass b is from 1À5 to 3 times B, and the height h of the first pass is from 0À6 to 0À9 times H. Each subsequent pass has a breadth about <SP>2</SP>/ 3 that of the breadth of the preceding pass and about two to three times as much as the preceding height.
