Abstract

1,077,616. Folding cabinets. HARRIS LEBUS Ltd. May 11, 1966 [May 31, 1965], No. 23099/65. Heading A4B. A cupboard with no back or top has side panels 19 hinged, at 20, to side uprights 8 of a front frame 8-11 carrying doors 13 (and 14), for movement from a folded position behind the frame 8-11 to an erected position in which the panels 19 extend rearwardly and perpendicularly to the frame 8-11, the erected condition being maintained by fitting internal shelf assemblies 21, 26 and 22, 28. The cupboard is fitted into an alcove. Shelf bearers 21, 22 have dovetail ends 23 fitting grooves 24 in the panels 19 and secured by screws (25). Adjustable feet 29 are carried by the frame member 11 and the lower shelf bearer 22. The frame parts 10, 11 and bearers 21, 22 are rebated to accommodate edges of the shelves 26, 28. Veneered strips 32 cover gaps between the ceiling and the top of the cupboard. A hanging rail 27 is carried beneath the upper shelf 26. A plurality of cupboards (35-38, Fig. 6) may be assembled side by side in a large alcove (34).
