Abstract

1370660 Cabinets; shelving MULTICOMMERCE INTERNATIONAL Ltd 8 Jan 1973 [10 Dec 1971] 57495/71 Heading A4B A foldable shelf unit comprises shelves P hinged at their rear edges to a back frame R, side frames S hinged at their vertical rear edges to the back frame R, and complementary formations 17, 18 on at least the upper and lower edges of the side frames S whereby units may be engaged and stacked one above the other in the inuse position in which the shelves P are supported between the side frames S by inter-engaging formations 16 on the side frames S and shelves P, the shelves and side frames being foldable towards the rear frame R in the out-of-use condition. Adjacent shelves may be fitted with channel guides for sliding doors. In a modification Fig.6 (not shown) a shelf has an extension flap (F) hinged to its front edge. The flap (F) may take up a first position overlying the shelf, a second position in which it is held vertical by a catch (20, 20a), and a third position in which is a planar with the shelf and is supported by pullout struts (19).
