Abstract

1,071,203. Hinges. REGIE NATIONALE des USINES RENAULT. March 9, 1966 [March 16, 1965], No. 10437/66. Heading E2F. In the opening of a door hinge incorporating arresting means and having male and female knuckle members 15 and 1 hinged together about a pivot pin 6, a roller 14 mounted on a pin 13 which is held in a bore 8 of the female member by elastic abutments 12 follows a cam profile 16 on the male member and engages in a recess 17 thereof when the door is in the open position, the roller being held in the recess by the elastic force of the abutments. The male member is made of steel sheet cut and stamped to shape. The female member may be cast in a light alloy and have studs 20 and 21 fast with the pin 6 to immobilize the pin in the female member and thus avoid friction between steel and light metal.
