Abstract

1,259,030. Automatic door closer. DORKEN & MANKEL KG. 29 Oct., 1969 [7 Nov., 1968], No. 53012/69. Heading E2M. An automatic door closer has a shaft 18 mounting cam 29 which, when the shaft is rotated by pivotal opening door movement, co-acts with roller follower 28 on slide 15 to move the slide. Spring 13 and hydraulic pistoncylinder unit 12 impose a clamped closing movement on the door via connecting rod 14. A second cam follower, 27, is mounted on the slide diametrically opposite to roller 28 with respect to shaft 18, and prevents the door "overtaking" the slide due to a closing force imposed on the door. When the door is closed roller 28 engages recess 30 at two points symmetrically disposed about an imaginary line joining the centres of shaft 18 and roller 28 thus enabling spring 13 to maintain the door closed.
