Abstract

1,065,570. Spray carburetters. SOCIETE INDUSTRIELLE DE BREVETS ET D'ETUDES S.I.B.E. Dec.30, 1965 [Jan. 6, 1965], No.55291/65. Heading F1B. In an automatic choke or starting carburetter comprising a bimetallic coil 6 rendered inoperative after cold starting by an electric heating resistance 7, a thermally responsive resistance 17 responding to engine temperature is arranged in the circuit of resistance 7 to increase the current through the heater 7 as engine temperature increases. In Fig. 1 the resistance 17 is in series with heater 7 and is responsive to engine cooling water or lubricating oil temperature, the resistance decreasing as engine temperature increases until at normal engine temperature the heater 7 is sufficient to cause coil 6 to fully open the choke valve 8. In Fig.3 (not shown) the resistance 17 is in parallel with heater 7 and its resistance increases with rising temperature.
