Abstract

1,060,809. Photographic transfer processes. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Sept. 30, 1963 [Oct. 1, 1962], No.38382/63. Heading G2C. A substantially unhardened (defined as an emulsion containing not more than 0À7 g. of formaldehyde per pound of gelatine) gelatine silver halide emulsion layer is imagewise exposed and treated with an aqueous solution of tripotassium phosphate and an alkali metal salicylate in the presence of both a gelatine tanning developer and a non-tanning developer, contacted with an absorbent surface in the presence of moisture so that the unhardened areas are transferred to the absorbent surface leaving a positive image thereon. The aqueous activator solution may also contain the sodium salt of ethylene diamine tetra-acetic acid and tetraethylene glycol as well as 60-100 gm/litre of tripotassium phosphate and 10-40 gm/litre of an alkali metal salicylate.
