Abstract
1,058,507. Wells &c. CAMERON IRON WORKS Inc. July 30, 1965 [Dec. 18, 1964], No. 32796/65. Heading E1F. An underwater wellhead has a flowline (20) extending to a remote station and formed by sections (24), (25), one section (24) being curved sufficiently to allow its end (24a) to be moved by remotely controlled means (33) to connect or disconnected it with the end (25a) of the section (25). The means has a part (34) fixed to a detachable Christmas tree (16), and a fitting (47) fixed to the end (25a) and positioned at the well by a member (40). The end (24a) is fixed to a fitting (46) movable in the part (34) by fluid supplied to a chamber (45) by pipes (48a), (49a). Latches (60) moved by a fluid reciprocable cam sleeve (51), hold the fittings in engagement. In a modification the fittings may carry the sections of two flowlines.
