Abstract

1,065,043. Wells &c. SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ N. V. April 28, 1965 [April 30, 1964], No. 17882/ 65. Heading E1F. A subaqueous wellhead installation has pressure-fluid-actuated components (not shown) and a re-entry head 26 comprising a body member 30 having bores 33, 34, a side conduit comprising ducts 46, 51 connecting the bore 33 with one of the components and a valve 49 in the conduit. The duct 46 has further branches which with the duct form further side conduits controlled by valves 58, 59, and the bore 34 has side conduits controlled by valves 60, 61, 62. The bores are supplied with fluid through pipes such as 82 and are connected by a line 42 (Fig. 3, not shown) which permits flushing of the bores when the valves are closed. The valves are opened by actuator heads 53 on suitable length rods 86 which may carry plugs 85 for closing the line 42. If the component is spring returned each side conduit is connected to a component, but if the components are actuated entirely by pressure a component is connected to at side conduit from each bore. The body has two through bores connected to the well tubing, and the top of the body may be closed by fluid tight fittings. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 934,216.
