1,048,030. Tuyere blast pipes. AMERICAN BRAKE SHOE CO. Oct. 29, 1963 [Jan. 4, 1963], No. 42684/63. Heading F4B. In a furnace blowpipe assembly, gas from a bustle pipe is introduced into the furnace through a tuyere connected to the bustle by a duct 25 and a blast tube 12, one end 15 of the blast tube being supported by a seat in a faceplate 17, said seat being lined at least in part with a separate insert 35. The face-plate 17 is formed with a recess 37 to receive the insert 35 which is composed of a heat-resistant alloy.
