Abstract

[Also in Division F4] A tuyere for a blast furnace is constructed by securing a replaceable nose portion 3 on to a separately formed body portion 1 by two annular removable welds 4 and 5. The body portion may be of stainless steel or copper and the nose portion may be of copper. Pipes 2 for cooling water are provided. The nose portion consists of an annular wall substantially L-shaped in axial section.
