[Also in Division E2] A gear-shift selector linkage comprises a rod 10 parallel to the steering column 12, axial movement of the rod 10 to select a ratio causing axial movement of the striker lever shaft in the gear-box via a bell-crank lever 18, selector rod 24, bell-crank lever 26 and cross-shaft 36. Rotary movement of the rod 10 to establish a ratio is transmitted to the cross-shaft by an arm 16, control rod 48 and pivotal movement of an arm 50, whereby the striker lever shaft is rotated and the selector striker fork rod moved axially to engage the selected gear ratio.
