Abstract

1,025,368. Hot-water boilers. RADIATION Ltd. June 1, 1964 [May 24, 1963], No. 20898/63. Heading F4A. In a gas or oil-fired circulator of the kind described in Specification 737,283, the water body has tank connections 7, 8 leading into water chambers 4, 6 which communicate with the heating chamber through openings 3, 5, the chambers 4, 6 being interconnected by a passageway 11 having a restricting throat 12 and containing the thermostat (not shown) which controls the burner operation. For tanks with a single opening for the circulator a pipe carrying hot water to the top of the tank is screwed into the opening 3, the connection 8 is blanked off and the circulator is secured to the opening by the connection 7. In operation, water flows in through the connection 7, downwardly in the passageway 11 and up through the heating chamber to discharge to the top of the tank through said pipe. For tanks with two openings both connections 7 and 8 are used. In this case, water enters the circulator through connection 8, passes into the heating chamber through opening 5 and returns to the tank through opening 3 and the connection 7, the restriction 12 substantially preventing water flow between the chambers 4, 6 through the passageway 11.
