Abstract

1,023,533. Valves. R. A. ANDERSSON. Feb. 8, 1963, No. 5177/63. Heading F2V. An air relief device for a pressurized hot water system comprises a two-part housing 11, 12, Fig. 1 (not shown), with a ring seal 14 and securing screws 13, a float 18 of which a sleeve 19 is slidable on a guide pin 17 rising from an inlet fitting 15, and a valve member 20 at the upper end of the sleeve coacting with a seat 21 of an air outlet fitting 23 provided with an orifice 28 and a cap 29. The discharge may be collected by a pipe instead of escaping through the orifice 28. An extension 37 of the valve member serves as a guide and prevents clogging of the outlet. In a modification, the valve member is separate from the sleeve 19 and is connected with the float by a lever pivoted on a bracket depending from the fitting 23.
