Abstract

1,020,439. Knitting-machines. SOLIS S. r. L. April 14, 1964 [April 17,19631, No. 15298/64. Heading D1C. The welt dial 5 of a circular machine is radially slotted to receive in each slot a welt instrument 3 comprising a single blade provided with a hook at its outer end. The instruments are aligned with the alternate needles which initially are rendered inoperative as the needles align between the welt instruments of each pair such that the yarn extends from every fourth needle which knits it over the two welt instruments in completely uninterrupted form. The instruments are thereafter withdrawn and all the needles knit the welt until on completion the instruments are reintroduced and the yarn extending over each pair of welt instruments is then taken by the needle positioned between the instruments of each pair.
