Abstract
1,016,689. Fluid logic circuits. SOC. D'ELECTRO CHIMIE, D'ELECTRO-METALLURGIE ET DES ACIERIES ELECTRIQUES D'UGINE. Dec. 9, 1963, No. 48509/63. Heading G4B. A fluid - actuated oscillator comprises a valve which directs a power jet to one or other to two outputs in response to a control input jet, the control jet being a feedback from the output which is the inverse of the control jet. In Fig. 1 a power jet A passes through a vave 1 to an outlet S and branches through a flow restriction r 1 and a buffer chamber C 1 to a control input E, thus-after a short delayswitching the jet from A to an output O. As a result the pressure of control jet E disappears and the cycle repeats. The valve is described in Specification 1,016,688. In a modification (Fig. 5), three valves 51, 52, 53 are connected as shown so that the feedback is inverted three times. A threshold device 56 may be used to regenerate the feedback. In a further modification (Fig. 7), five valves are contained in a casing chamber 78 and a rotary pump 77 supplies a pressure jet A of oil from a well in the casing. The outputs at 0 1 -0 5 are allowed to run back into the well. Output pulses appear at S. The device may be used as an alternating volumetric pump. If the fluid is incompressible the chambers C 1 -C 7 have elastic walls, e.g. are constructed as bellows. A valve such as that shown in Fig. 4 may be used. This valve has a piston 34 mounted on a flexible diaphragm 35, which piston cooperates with a valve ball B31.
