Abstract

1,015,277. Disc brakes. SOC. D'ETUDES ET D'APPLICATIONS INDUSTRIELLES COMMERCIALES ET IMMOBILIERES "INTER - TECHNIQUES". Jan. 27, 1964 [Feb. 11, 1963], No. 3339/64. Heading F2E. A disc brake has a stirrup which straddles the disc and is constituted by a massive U-shaped element, the branch 6 of which has a continuous face carrying the pad P, the opposite branch 3 having at least one ram V detachably secured thereto. As shown the piston 10 has an extension 12 which passes through an aperture in the branch 3 and is secured thereto by a ring 13 inserted in the extension 12. The cylinder 11 comprises a rectangular base which carries the pad P<SP>1</SP> and also prevents the cylinder from rotating about the piston. The stirrup is formed with longitudinal reinforcing ribs 6 and two lateral portions 8 and is adapted to be secured in a loose manner to a wheel support. In modifications the cylinder is detachably secured to the stirrup and a number of rams disposed in parallel relation are detachably secured to the stirrup.
