998,729. Disc brakes. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO. Ltd. Oct. 16, 1962 [Nov. 1, 1961], No. 39140/61. Heading F2E. In a disc brake of the kind having a movable member provided with brake-actuating means, the movable member is carried by a fixed support and is formed of two separate portions 1, 2, the brake-actuating cylinder being formed integral with one of the portions 1, the separate portions being guided together to form a closed loop construction about a chord of the disc providing an opening therein for removing the brake pads and a peripheral portion of the brake disc. The cylinder carrying portion 1 may be formed as a casting and the other portion 2 may be of single or laminated metal plate construction. Specification 996,612 and 998,726 are referred to.
