Abstract

1,005,284. Counting-apparatus. SPIRAX-SARCO Ltd. March 31, 1964 [June 5, 1963], No. 22451/63. Heading G4D. [Also in Division F1] Strokes of a pumping trap, especially for steam condensate, are counted as a measure of the liquid pumped. With the trap 1 empty exhaust port 10 is closed and condensate flows through pipe 3 and non-return valve 5 to the trap. Float 7 rises and through lever 12 opens inlet port 14 which thereupon supplies pressure air or steam. Exhaust port 10 is simultaneously shut and the abrupt rise in pressure lifts piston 17, Fig. 2, to advance a counter 21 and also opens non- return valve 6 to empty the trap.
