Abstract

1,001,485. Ceiling and wall constructions. ISORA ILLUMINATING CEILINGS Ltd. March 30, 1962 [Nov. 15, 1961], No. 40871/61. Heading E1V. [Also in Division F4] A ceiling, wall lining, or partition wall, comprises panels 10 supported on a gridwork 24, each panel comprising a rigid frame 20 over which is stretched a flexible sheet or film 12 having a border of increased thickness and formed with a groove so that it is snapped over the edge of the frame. As particularly described, the gridwork is of a light metal and two flexible sheets or films 12, 14 over each panel are of synthetic plastic or of a woven or rubberized fabric with the thickened border of plastic or plastic-coated cord or cable. The sheets or films may be translucent. Cruciform or T-shaped connecting pieces fill the gaps between panels and electric lighting may be located above the ceiling to diffuse through to the room below.
