Abstract

The invention relates to a link rod (1) with means of programmed rupture, intended notably for the connection between the power plant (GMP) (2) and the cradle (3) of a vehicle, which takes the form of a body (30) that is elongate in the direction of load between the power plant (2) and the cradle (3), said body (3) comprising a first through-orifice (32) to accept a pivot about which the link rod (1) is articulated to the power plant (2) and a second through-orifice (31) to accept means (4) of attachment of the link rod (1) to the cradle (3). The invention consists in the fact that the means of programmed rupture comprise pyrotechnic actuating means (10) which, when an impact of the type known as a "frontal impact" is detected, are initiated and cause striker means or impactor means (20) to move from an inactive position into an active position in which they butt against the means (4) of attachment of the link rod (1) to the cradle (3) with an impact intensity capable of causing said means (4) of attachment to rupture.
