Abstract

A housing (5), which is made in one piece with the discharge connection stub (6), is connected to the discharge pipe (1) with the siphon (2). The housing (5) is cylindrical and contains a shut-off slide valve (8) which, in its closed position, completely blocks the passage from the siphon bend (2) into the discharge connection stub (6). Said slide valve can be raised by turning an actuating member (9) which engages, by means of a coarse thread (9a), into an internal thread (8a) of said shut-off slide valve (8). The housing (5) further contains a buoyant ball (7) which interacts with a valve-seat-like constriction (5b). The shut-off slide valve (8) forms a first backflow preventer and the ball (7) forms a second backflow preventer, both of which prevent waste water, owing to backflow from the connection stub (6), from being able to pass into the pipe (1) and into the adjoining tank.
