Abstract

A housed lock mechanism is cased (1), and provides a lever handle (2) actuated latch bolt (3) with a key actuated dead bolt (4). The key drive is also transmitted to a vertical slide (6). The slide (6) has a rectangular section and is located in a box section track (11,16) which is fixed to the vertical door edge. The track may comprise a doubly rebated 'U' section back plate (16) locating a flush cover plate (6). The plate includes a window (17) for the lock casing (1), and the two components (11,16) may be connected by aligned holes (15,23) for fixing screws.
