Abstract

A lock for vertically moving doors is operable from either side with a key and, when the lock cylinder is in one orientation, manually from one side. A pin 13 on the lock cylinder engages with a cut out segment 12 of a driving member which drives locking bars 4, 5. The lock cylinder is mounted on a fascia plate and a rear plate, carries the driving member and the locking bars from the position shown in Figure 6 the bars may be extended to the locking position by using a key from either side to rotate the cylinder pin 13 clockwise. From the position also the driving member may be rotated manually from the inside because of the groove 12, but such rotation is not possible when the cylinder is in the position shown in Figure 8. Alternatively the pin 13 may be engaged in groove 16 so that a key must always be used. <IMAGE>
