Abstract

Mixt. of plastic and an expanding agent is injected under pressure through an orifice into a mould to form the cover. Movement of a wall of the mould perperidicular to the cover end whilst the object is hot allows a part of the corner to expand into a space to form an integral seal. This soln. produces a permanently sealing bottle cover at low cost when compared with injection moulding of the cover onto a separate seal.
