Abstract

The plastics container, especially an inner container of a refrigerator is made with an injection mould. The plastics container has a threshold profile on its open side which is moulded. The threshold projection (18), which is a reentrant feature in the mould, is connected to the container body (17) by a flexible zone (19) about which the projection can be folded into the container opening. This flexible zone is formed as a relatively thin section and ensures that simple injection moulds can be used and no sealing problems are met when this housing is filled with foam plastics insulation. Alternatively this flexible section can be moulded as a flexible hinge or as a curved groove in the corner between the container parts. The threshold profile can be moulded by using inserts at its ends.
