Abstract

Solar radiation is used to heat water which is stored in a series of coils in the ground. A series of solar panels (1) are mounted in the roof space and are connected to coils (5, 6) recovering heat from the chimney. These heat producers are connected to a primary storage coil (7) buried in the ground in an enclosure containing moisture sensors (13). An electronic processor operated from temperature sensors ensures that control values (19, 21, 26) and pumps (20, 23, 25) are operated to pump the water in the required direction for storage or for hot water (9) or heating (10).
