Abstract
The heat pump produces a high temp. from a low temp. source such as air or water. Freezing of the evaporator is avoided by stepping the system, and applying heat from hot water or auxiliary heating system. A number of radiators (1) are connected in series with a pump (3) and the cold circuit (4) of a heat pump (5). An auxiliary heater (7) with a gas burner (8) is also connected to the circuit and is controlled from electrical signals which operate valves and pumps. The heat pump comprises a motor compressor (9) in the hot circuit (11) of the heat exchanger (5) and connected to an evaporator (14). This circuit is controlled automatically by an electronic system (19) in which temperature probes (20, 62, 64) ensure that the auxiliary burner (8) or the heat pump operates.
