Abstract

The machine feeds workpieces to and from an automatic lathe. Prim. spindles have automatic clamps with elastic ejection. A handling spindle is located parallel to and above each prim. spindle, comprising coaxial output and input spindles each with integral handling arms. Spindle movements are effected by cams with three independent cams effecting individual spindle rotations together with axial displacement or shift of the input spindle. Cam profiles put the arms in a waiting position, initially effecting a reciprocal pivoting of arm whereby a finished piece is picked up and transferred to an evacuation chute. During the latter return movement the input arm is pivoted and shifted to present a blank piece to the clamp. An inverse shift and pivoting now brings the input arm to a feed chute for replenishment, with an input integral finger dislodging the finished piece from the output arm.
