Abstract

The fishing rod has two sections:- a rigid metal handle and a telescopic glass-fibre shaft. The first part comprises several tubular metal sections of successively decreasing diameter which fit together and are held in place by peripheral stops at the end of each engaging section. The end of each tube except the first is bevelled to facilitate its introduction into the preceding bore. This portion is made of aluminium or a light alloy so the rod is both light and rigid.
