Abstract
The in-line air cooled reciprocating IC engine has a coolant header alongside the cylinders, fed by an axial blower in a cast light alloy casing supported from the front of the engine. The support part of the casting, around the cylindrical casing (7), is hollow and forms an oil tight L-shaped chamber (2, 3) with one limb vertical. This chamber connects crankcase and combustion air inlet. Between it and the crankcase, inside the latter, is a plenum chamber with an inlet opening (10) close to the axis of a rotating, discshaped, part of the engine.
