Abstract
A heat exchange panel, partic. a solar absorber, has internal tubular passageways defining >=3 tapered longitudinal headers connected at one end by a transverse manifold, and connecting sections extending transversely between the headers, with fluid entry and exit sections extending longitudinally from two headers. The header configuration reduces pressure drop while maintaining uniform fluids flow at high velocity. There is pref. a central header which is tapered oppositely to two lateral headers, and the headers may include bonded circular islands which interrupt the flow and increase resistance to failure.
