Abstract

A thermostatic element for taps of central heating radiators consists of a flat diaphragm held at its edge between a sleeve and a pipe end. An elastic material based on wax fills the space between the sleeve and diaphragm. A piston in the pipe is held in contact with the diaphragm through an intermediate disc by an external pressure. The pistons working stroke (C) is equal to 1.1d, where d is the piston dia. The greater part of the piston guiding tube is cylindrical.
