Abstract

The device has at least one tubular line (2) which is provided with a lateral branch (5). The latter forms a straight passage through which it is possible to insert a probe into the line (2) under pressure. With the probe removed, the passage is tightly blocked by a spring-loaded flap (41). Upon insertion of the probe, the flap (41) can be opened by means of the probe. The flap (41) is bridged by a bypass which contains a valve (44) which blocks the bypass when the probe is removed. When the flap (41) is in its closed position, the closure element (47) of the valve (44) projects on the side of the flap averted from the line (2) into the passage, so that the valve closure element (47) is raised from the valve seat (46) upon insertion of the probe before the probe engages with the flap (41). The flap (41) is thereby relieved of the pressure of the flow medium before being opened. The probe has a sensor for measuring the rate of flow.
