Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the presence or absence of leakage of water supply pipes surely and easily by feeding water into two pieces of connected bag bodies that can be moved in the water supply pipe to expand, supplying water into the section sealed by the two bag bodies and detecting the change in flow rate. CONSTITUTION:The water in a water supply pipe 1 to be measureed of leakage is removed, and bag bodies 2 in a contracted state are inserted therein. Both ends of the pipe 1 is closed tightly with caps 3, and fluid is supplied to the two bodies 2a to expand. Water pressure is applied to the entire part of the water supply pipe and the leakage measuring chamber sealed by the two bag bodies through pipelines C1, C2 by a pump P. This water pressure is maintained constant via a relief valve V1. When there is leakage in the measuring chamber, a flowmeter F2 operates and when its pointer swings out as the flow rate is large, a selector valve V2 operates and the flow rate is read with a flow rate meter F1. A wire 4 is taken up by a take-up drum 5 to move a leakage detector 2, whereby the leakage of the entire part of the pipe 1 is examined. Thereby, the presence or absence of the leakage is detected surely and easily.
