Abstract

The rucksack (1) has two narrow straps (5) which are joined to the top of the bag and to the shoulder straps (3) of the rucksack so that the load is, at least partially, transferred towards the front. The narrow straps pass through slides (6) joined to the shoulder straps and then through an adjustable buckle (7). These buckles are used to adjust the length of the straps and so to adjust the amount of load transferred to the front. The position of the buckle can be adjusted by a lever (9) on the buckle. They also form loops (8) which can be used as hand holds.
