Abstract

The ventilation system is applicable to approx. circular agricultural sheds and draws the fresh air in from the apex of a conical roof. The inlet is surmounted by a domed cowl and can be opened, closed or adjusted by a rope from below. The shed has two stories with the top storey housing livestock and the bottom storey receiving excreta which passes through a grilled floor. Fans may be deployed to create low pressures within the building causing air to be sucked in through the apex inlet. The air passes through the grilled floor to be extracted from the sludge-chamber. The cowl (16) surmounts a vertical tube (20), with an annular gap (25) between the ram of the cowl (16) and the tube (20) forming the inlet.
