Abstract

The accelerating and braking ramp is for cable operated vehicles. The vehicle (1) is attached to a cable (2) and is supported by a rail system (3). This has an entry rail (4), a rising ramp (5), a horizontal rail (6) and a falling ramp (7) and an exit rail. The upper part of the rails is convex. The entry rail (4) is parallel to the cable (2) and the ramp (5) works with a conveyor (9) with wedges (10) to hold the vehicle. A device (11) detects instantaneous speed of the cable and another (12) can vary the gradient of the ramp (7) to ensure that the leaving vehicle leaves at the speed of the cable. The control is electrical.
