Abstract

The hold-off brake control valve has a differential piston which control the flow of fluid to the hold-off cylinder. The differential piston seals the hold-off chamber from the supply line when sufficient pressure is reached. The hold-off effect is initiated only by the control line and not by the valve. The effects of the spring pressures in the valve do not initiate the braking effect. If any spring does break then the valve is still effectively sealed until braking is required.
