Abstract

The brake has a pair of expandable brake shoes with linings, and an expanding unit, fastened to one of the shoes. A toothed ratchet is connected to the other brake shoes. An L-shaped ratchet section has a projecting part, which is fitted with free play into the other brake shoe. A stop part allows a turning movement of the ratchet in a direction of brake shoes adjustment, but blocks a turning movement in the opposite direction. a second stop unit acts in a similar way. One brake shoe is connected to the expanding unit via a hand brake lever, which is fastened turnable to the unit, and which engages with one end into the brake shoe.
